After four teenage friends crash their car, they discover a deserted church nearby and decide to wait there for help. To pass the time, they recount well-known urban legends with twists.
Please please please, do not confuse this movie with the shitty movie called Campfire Stories. That ones a piece of crap, while this one is really good. (I haven’t seen the “Campfire Tales” film with Gunner Hansen so I can’t tell you about that one.) But this one has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it. In fact, I have GOT to get my niece (16yrs old) and nephew (13yrs old) to watch this next week. I’m sure I could spook them silly with it, as I did with their sister... Continue reading
The weekend in Mexico sounded like a dream vacation. Four guys, five girls--and a gorgeous ocean-side mansion all to themselves. It should have been perfect.
Except nothing was going the way they'd planned. There was the girl upstairs who was fighting for her life. The phone lines that went dead. And the explosion in the garage that could have killed them all.
But not even that prepared them for what happened next. Because while they were getting some sun, someone else was getting revenge--and the terror wouldn't stop until the weekend was over.
Wow, by the time I sat down and found the time to write this review its now a month or so after I finished reading it. My hubby’s been off of work with medical issues for the last month and I haven’t had a moment.. Continue reading
A group of survivors suddenly find themselves trapped inside a submerged supermarket, following a freak tsunami. As they try to escape, they discover that there is a predator among them more deadly than the threat of drowning—vicious great white sharks lurking in the water, hungry for fresh meat. As the bloodthirsty sharks begin to pick the survivors off one by one, the group realizes that they must work together to find a way out without being eaten alive.
Quite frankly I hadn’t heard about this until I was offered to review it a couple weeks back, and I honestly thought it was going to be a terrible movie... Continue reading
A group of friends arrive at a secluded island cabin for a weekend getaway. After a night of music, drinking and getting re-acquainted the friends are shocked to find the cabin's caretaker murdered and the only boat off the island gone. Stranded on the island they become the prey of a mysterious killer who seems bent on revenge for something . . .
The movie starts out with a girl huddled in the woods covered in blood with a knife. Police close in on her and she is taken to be questioned. Right from the get-go we are told everyone else is dead. Geeze, way to ruin it Continue reading
In an homage to the works of EC Comics the rotting but amiable Creep introduces this anthology of three gruesome tales written by the master of horror, Stephen King. In the first story, a wooden statue of a Native American comes to life...to exact vengeance on the murderer of his elderly owners. In the second, four teens are stranded on a raft on a lake with a blob that is hungry. And in the third, a hit and run woman is terrorized by the hitchhiker she accidentally killed...
I rented this movie a LOT as a teenager, I loved it. For some reason I didn’t see the first one until I was in my mid to late 20’s, and I wasn’t a huge fan of it... Continue reading
In this made for TV movie (SyFy Original), a group of friends band together to hide the truth about an accidental death of one of their friends one night while out partying on a lake. 10 years later aspiring journalist Katherine is asked to return to her hometown and cover the annual Mothman Festival. So in my reviews I don’t normally give spoilers, but wow, the beginning of this was fricking STUPID. This group of kids go swimming and bring along one of their little brothers... Continue reading
Chased through the woods at night by the maniacal Moon Face after a car accident, Ellen defends herself by rigging a series of booby traps she learned from her cruel survivalist husband. But her tricks may not be enough to stave off the creepy predator. This is a short story that was later adapted into an episode of Masters of Horror on Showtime in 2006.
I saw the Masters of Horror episode of this story back when it first came out. I watched a few more episodes and didn't like them. From my recollection, this one was the best one I had seen... Continue reading

One by one, the chain letter was coming to each of them ... demanding dangerous, impossible deeds... threatening violence if the demands were not met.
